The story behind draftlogo

Chapter 1: How a missing logo started everything

Back in 2024, when I used to build multiple projects,
I kept getting stuck at the same exact problem every time.

finding a logo that actually suited my brand.

one of those projects was a ui library.

UI Library Sample

I had built it to around 70% completion.

  • the code was solid
  • the features worked
  • everything was almost ready

except one thing… it had no logo.

I spent days trying to design something that matched the vibe of the product.

  • tried tools
  • tried templates
  • tried generators

nothing felt right.

and because of that, the project slowly stopped moving forward.

that frustration stayed with me.

ps: I was literally thinking of competing with shadcn with that ui library.

Chapter 2: Building without knowing everything

When I started building draftlogo,
I honestly didn't know what a saas product really was.

I had no clear idea about:

  • how saas work
  • how payments work
  • how authentication work

my mindset was simple:

“I'll figure it out once I start.”

that's when things got interesting.

I didn't know postgresql.
I didn't know prisma.
I didn't know better-auth.

I had only heard about them from other builders.

so what was next?

I learned them.
one by one.

and then I started implementing them into draftlogo,
slowly, like it was nothing.

what felt overwhelming at first
started making sense over time.

sometimes, you don't need full clarity. you just need to start and figure things out along the way.

Chapter 3: The delay nobody talks about

Finally, it was time.

the moment I was waiting for.

my first-ever saas product
and the first product I built on my own.

but here's the interesting part.

the product was only live on my local machine,
waiting to be shared with people who didn't even know who I was.

the reason?

dodo payments.

I had to postpone my launch three times
because my dodo account was under verification.

  • bank verification
  • product verification
  • the usual process

it felt frustrating, especially when the product was ready.

then one day, I got the email.

Dodo Verification Email

verification complete.

I instantly locked in.

I decided to launch draftlogo first on X.

fun fact:

at the same time I was launching my product,
my semester results were out.

I was launching a saas
while my friends were discussing the results on discord.

surreal moment.

Chapter 4: The response I didn't expect

To be honest, I was expecting a better response initially.

especially because I had spent time learning after effects
just to create a proper launch video for draftlogo.

the response on X was decent.

but everything changed when I launched on peerlist launchpad.

that one week was special. really special.

some moments I'll always remember:

Project of the Week

I never imagined that.

these were the stats so far:

  • 450 visitors
  • 1,197 page views
  • users from 45+ countries

people were actually using the product.

they were loving it.
they were sharing feedback.

and honestly,
I'm really proud of what I built.

but the journey isn't over yet.

my next goal?

earning my first dollar from my first saas.

Final thoughts

this journey has been very special to me.

from being stuck on logos
to learning new tech from scratch
to launching my first saas
to seeing people actually use it

I'm grateful to everyone who:

  • supported me
  • appreciated my work
  • believed in me

thank you 💜

I write, build, and share daily on X.

if you're serious about building something real,
let's do it.
